Taylor County Fiscal Court met in regular session Tuesday night, September 11th. The court voted to begin an association with the Taylor County S-P-C-A in regard to helping out at the Taylor County Animal Shelter and finding good homes for animals. The Taylor County S-P-C-A is a 501 C-3 certified non-profit organization founded 51 years ago. Allison Thompson is the Taylor County S-P-C-A president. The court also acknowledged the property tax rates set by Taylor Regional Hospital, the Taylor County School System and the Taylor County Extension District and also approved their own property tax rates on real and personal property which were compensating rates meaning there will be no increase in the amount of property tax revenue collected by Taylor Fiscal Court this fiscal year as compared to last fiscal year. Taylor Fiscal Court magistrates also voted to set the speed limit on Wilson Creek Road in Taylor County at 25 miles per hour, approved a 5 year renewal of the garbage collection franchise agreement with Waste Connections and voted to begin work immediately on improvements to the restroom facilities at Veterans Memorial Park in Campbellsville.
