Campbellsville Middle School Junior Beta Club has begun a collection drive to help soldiers.
The club is participating in Operation Gratitude, which sends more than 100,000 care packages each year to deployed troops, new recruits, veterans, Wounded Warriors and caregivers.
CMS Beta Club’s mission is to support the Operation Gratitude effort by collecting items for the packages.
Items on the Operation Gratitude wish list include all-purpose wipes, AA or AAA batteries, travel size deodorant, gum, hand warmers, lip balm, mechanical pencils, playing cards, 7×10 puzzle books, travel size sewing kits, black crew-length socks, travel size sunscreen, individual water flavor packets and beef jerky.
Those donating items can also include letters of support and appreciation.
Items for donation can be brought to Campbellsville elementary, middle or high school, or the Board of Education office.
The drive begins Monday, Sept. 10, and will end Thursday, Sept. 27.
The drive is the first of many community service projects in which the CMS Junior Beta Club will participate.
